What is a Dare Skywalk School Climb?

The Dare Skywalk provides the perfect setting for school trips and your climb can be adapted for all ages of adventure seekers. During your School climb, you and your students will take it to the Edge, scaling the height of the stadium and stepping out onto a glass walkway 46.8m above the pitch.

Climbs are 90 mins and the maximum capacity for a climb is 15 people. Our school climbs are aimed at pupils between Years 7 to 11 and higher education (11–18 years old). Please let us know what age/year group you are bringing to the Stadium ahead of your visit. 

 

What age groups can climb?

School climbs on The Dare Skywalk are suitable for students aged between 8-17 (Years 4-11 and higher education.) 

Educational climb bookings must include at least 2 adults and be booked according to our adult – to – child ratios, detailed below:

What are the requirements for climbers?

Each Climber must be:

  • 8 years or older
  • A minimum height of 1.2 m
  • A weight of less than 130kg/21 stone/286lbs

Unfortunately, if you or any climbers in your group do not meet these requirements, you will not be permitted to climb

 

Leaders/Supervisors

Teachers/leaders go free! The number of complimentary tickets available is dependent on the age group you are visiting with:

  • Up to 3 Teacher tickets for Year 4- 6
  • Up to 2 Teacher tickets for Year 9–11
  • Up to 2 Teacher tickets for Higher Education (under 18 years old)

 

Waiver form

The lead booker must ensure a waiver form is completed ahead of your trip. The waiver form must be completed for all guests attending The Dare Skywalk School Climb, including any minors (i.e. supervised under 18s in your booking.)  If we do not receive your waiver form on time, your group will be unable to climb.

A link to the waiver is sent in the confirmation email that you will receive after booking your school climb. If you are bringing a group which includes more than 10 minors, 2 waiver forms will need to be completed to cover all minors in the group. You will need to provide the full names and dates of birth of all minors in your group.

 

Safeguarding

You must bring a minimum of 2/3 adults per booking, depending on the ages of the students. When booking, we also need to know who your Safeguarding lead will be, should this is different to the lead booker. 

These teachers/leaders must have loco-parentis status for all of the children participating in the climb experience.

The teachers/leaders are responsible for the children during their visit to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, including whilst completing The Dare Skywalk. We have a specially trained climb guide team ready to welcome your group and show you the ropes on the day. However, the responsible teachers/leaders must ensure that all children follow the instructions they are given by the Climb guide and other Tottenham Hotspur staff during your visit and provide assistance where/when required. We will not tolerate unacceptable behaviour from any members of the group and, should we feel it necessary, we may refuse person(s) entry to the Stadium or Dare Skywalk attraction. This includes, but is not limited to, verbal or physical aggression and inappropriate behaviour.

 

Booking

School climbs are booked on a bespoke basis and enquiries can be made by emailing groups@tottenhamhotspur.com

School groups need to be booked in advance and we require full payment one month in advance of the Skywalk climb date. You can pay by credit card or BACS payment

Once we’ve received payment for your climb, you’ll receive a confirmation email with your groups’ e-tickets attached. Please have these ready to show on a mobile phone when you check in at Basecamp. 

Please note that we are unable to refund or reschedule your climb within 30 day

You will receive a pre-visit email 48 hours before your visit and this email with contain important information regarding your trip.

  • Our educational climbs are available throughout the week, between 10:00-16:00
  • The minimum number of students per booking is 10
  • Weekend dates are subject to limited availability
  • These prices are for our 2021-22 season and are subject to change

 

Medical Requirements

We need to be informed ahead of your visit if there are any climbers in your group with access requirements or medical conditions.

This includes information about any medication that may need to be administered. Where a child is required to take or be administered medication, the educational establishment and our Dare Skywalk team will require guidance from the parent and should follow the school’s procedures.

This information must be declared on the waiver form and provided 7 days in advance of the climb.

Unfortunately, due to the nature of the climb and fit of the harness, anyone known to be pregnant cannot partake in The Dare Skywalk.

 

Climbing Equipment

We provide all the necessary climbing equipment:

  • Climb suits or gilets will be allocated, depending on the season and weather on the day
  • Climb shoes (please ensure climbers bring socks with them!)
  • Harnesses

 

Clothing recommendations to be brought along by each climber

Climbers should wear comfortable clothing underneath their climb suits/gillets.

During the colder weather we also recommend wrapping up with hats and gloves.

On very warm days we recommend:

  • Wearing loose fitting clothing
  • Bringing sunglasses
  • Applying sun cream ahead of your visit and bringing some with you for your group
  • Drinking plenty of water; everyone should stay hydrated! Climb guides will carry water and paper cups in their backpacks whilst you are on the climb.

Public transport options

The Stadium is well-served by public transport and these are our nearest stations:

White Hart Lane
London Overground, from Liverpool Street: 5-minute walk to the stadium.

Seven Sisters
Victoria Line and London Overground – 149 / 259 / 349 buses run from the station (Bus Stop D) to the stadium (Tottenham Sports Centre or Tottenham Hotspur Football Club).

Northumberland Park
Abellio Greater Anglia Services: 15-minute walk to the stadium.

 

Weather

The Dare Skywalk is an outdoor activity and climbs take place in all conditions.  We have an experienced team of climb guides who will assist climbers during the activity. Only if the weather is extreme and it is unsafe for the climb to go ahead, will we cancel your climb. This includes lightning, heavy snow, and fast wind speeds.  If, on the day, we deem is unsafe to climb, we will contact you and full refunds or reschedules will be offered.

There are no refunds or reschedules if you choose not to come if our attraction is still open.

 

Mobile phones and cameras

Mobile phones and cameras are permitted on the climb but will be given to your climb guide before your ascent and remain in the possession of the Climb Guide until you are on the viewing platform.

Alternatively, you can store these away in the small, complimentary lockers located in Basecamp.  Please remember that the lockers are small, so try to avoid bringing large items with you on the day of your climb.

 Mobile phones and cameras are not allowed to be used on the walkway, and your climb will be stopped if this instruction is ignored by anyone in your group. 

 

Prohibited Items

The following items are strictly prohibited on your climb:

  • Any item which is dangerous or may be used as a weapon or may cause damage to the Dare Skywalk structure or stadium
  • Food and beverages (unless required for medical reasons and arranged with a Climb Guide in advance)
  • Sound, video recording equipment, cameras, handbags, umbrellas, headphones, MP3 players, iPods and any other personal items.

 

What to expect on the day

  • The Dare Skywalk starts at Basecamp. Basecamp is located on Park Lane Square behind the Tottenham Experience. It can be accessed via the lift or stairs next to Door 2.
  • Please arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled climb time to allow for time to check in, use the toilet facilities and our complimentary facilities. Late comers will not be rescheduled or refunded
  • After checking in, you’ll be asked to use the toilet and locker facilities. Please note, there are no toilets on the roof.
  • Then, your group will meet their climb guide who will take you into the Briefing room to watch a video, provide a safety briefing and explain more about your climb.
  • After the safety briefing, your guide will assist in allocating kit and harnesses to the climbers in your group. At least 2 teachers/leaders need to be present at all times during the kitting up process, when the children will be kitted up with climbing equipment.
  • It is at this point that any mobile phones should be handed over to your climb guide.
  • Depending on your group size and ages of the students, teachers/leaders will be positioned by the climb guide at various points on the walkway. Please listen carefully to where they position you.
  • In the event of bad behaviour from anyone in your group, your climb will be stopped as it is safe to do so. You will not be entitled to any refund or reschedule, and you may be prevented from making any further bookings with us.
  • If a child decides not to carry on with the climb, a supervisor/teacher needs to stay on the ground with the pupil.
  • After your climb, your experience will finish in the Tottenham Experience where you can view and purchase your photos and shop.
  • The Educational package will include one, downloadable digital photo of your group.

Physical prints will be available to buy in the Tottenham Experience after your climb.
