We’re aware that the unauthorised passing of away match tickets is something fans feel very strongly about. We also know that it is becoming an increasingly common occurrence. Not only can this pose a security risk on matchdays, it prevents supporters who missed out on a ticket (and would otherwise have qualified) from being able to support the team away from home.
Away Tickets – For Personal Use Only
As a reminder, away tickets are for the sole use of the supporter they are issued to. If you’ve purchased tickets for an away fixture you’re no longer able to attend, please contact the Club to return your ticket. We will reallocate any ticket returned 72 hours before the game, and will endeavour to reallocate tickets returned at shorter notice where possible. Under no circumstances should tickets be passed or sold to anyone else – including friends and relatives.
Sanctions and Banning Policy
Passing on away tickets is a ticketing offence under the Club’s Sanctions and Banning policy. The minimum sanction for this offence is a 50% ticketing point deduction – though enhanced sanctions, including indefinite bans and the removal of all ticketing points, may apply where appropriate.
Throughout the 2024/25 season, sanctions were applied to a number of supporters whose tickets were passed or sold on unofficially. This is not something we ever want to do – however, to ensure fair and correct usage of match tickets, in 2025/26 sanctions will continue to be applied to any supporters found to have passed or sold their tickets to anyone else, or attempted to do so.
Away Ticket Collections
To further ensure that away tickets are being used by the supporters they have been issued to, this season there will be an increase in the number of spot checks and ticket collections carried out on away matchdays.
Successful ticketholders will therefore be selected at random and asked to collect their tickets, with photo ID, from a designated collection point ahead of kick-off. We thank fans in advance for their understanding and co-operation.
We remain committed to ensuring away tickets are used fairly and correctly, and hope that these measures provide reassurance about this shared goal.
Tottenham Hotspur Supporters’ Trust said: “The Trust supports the Club’s actions to ensure away tickets are only used by those entitled to them. Passing them on deprives fans who would have otherwise been able to attend. Last season there were lengthy bans issued to longstanding fans, meaning they also missed out on a chance to go to Bilbao. Our advice is: use the club’s official processes if you’re unable to attend. Passing them on unofficially is simply not worth the risk.“
